Back on the Horse
You can probably tell that work on Ultrablamtacular! had slowed recently. I started work on it again today, and one of the things I knew I needed to do was to update this blog.I can say that the break has been good – I’m finding problems in sections I had become so familiar with before that I just skimmed over them without even noticing, and I’m finding solutions to things that had me stumped before the break, too.
But I’m glad the break is over, glad to find that when I came back to the game it was still good, still the game I thought that I was making. I can’t wait to get the current round of changes in, get a round of edits back from my readers, and then FINALLY get started on external playtesting!
So that leaves the question of why was there a break in the first place? There are a lot of factors. First, there’s just less time right now than I thought there would be. Summer got busy, mostly in good, fun ways. But it had a drastic impact. Second, I think I was put off more than I thought (or admitted) by the realization that I wouldn’t make it to GenCon. Setting that goal kick started this project and failing to achieve it took a significant toll. But I’m over it, I think, and happy to be back to work!
Yay! More Ultrablam! I TRUST you to work it out!
I’m happy too! And a little relieved, because now there is more time for finishing the art, and I know I’ve been slacking there. (And Tori keeps needing her light table instead of keeping it at my house, what is /up/ with that?) So yay more work! I am excited to playtest some more.
Thanks for the votes of confidence, guys!
