A Few of my Favorite Things
I just wrote a long post about something I didn’t like. I feel like I should post about some things that I do like, to sorta balance the cosmic scales.
I like Indie Press Revolution. Like indie games? They’re a great source. Good guys. Supportive of their customers. Supportive of the industry. I have bought lots of stuff through them and hope someday to sell lots of stuff through them. They’ll work with your FLGS, too, and like they have with mine.
Oh yeah, I like a Friendly Local Game Store. Mine is called Active Imagination. I’ve been going there since they were called Wargames West and were at a totally different there. Their website was not-good the last time I looked at it, but that’s not really the point. The point is, the store itself is full of people and products that rock. If you have a game store, you should go to it. You should buy stuff there. These are the places that make this hobby.
I like The Forge. You like the peek behind the curtain you get here? You need to go to The Forge. Did you know that there is such a thing as RPG theory? There is. And it lives at The Forge. I would not be doing this if I hadn’t found that place and the games that have come out of there.
Speaking of games, I like Agricola. And Formula D. Those are boardgames, true. And you should buy them from your FLGS instead of clicking through to Amazon from here and earning me five cents or whatever. But I can’t link to your FLGS.
There. I feel better now. Maybe you’ll like something I like.
