Hello, World

March 12th, 2009 jason No comments

Night before last, I put links to this blog out there in the big world – publicizing its existance to a much larger audience than I did in Step One: My Friends, or Step Two: The Indie-Friendly Forge. I have new readers coming from new sources, and I wanted to take this opportunity to say, “Hello! Thanks for stopping by!” Read more…

The Name Game

March 10th, 2009 jason 3 comments

As most readers know, I’m trying to find just the right name to call this game. I’ve been through several options and even one round of opinion polling – though I prefer to call it crowdsourcing so I can sound tremendously hip. The options have changed, several times, and now I’m down to what I swear are the final two condenders. Read more…

Update

March 9th, 2009 jason 5 comments

It was a rough week for working on the game. What with going to see Watchmen at midnight on Thursday, followed by the discovery on Friday that I am now officially too old for mid-week midnight releases, followed by a social engagement on Saturday, followed by a time change and a Sunday filled with the drudgery of workaday tidal waves. March 4th, 2009 jason 4 comments

What was sort of a nebulous goal, a member of the gee-wouldn’t-that-be-nice category of thoughts, is now a committment. I’m going to GenCon. And I’m taking this ever-so-soon-to-be-named game system with me. I’ll be a member of The Forge booth. I’m really glad to have this in the realm of the real. It’s chilling and galvanizing to have a real, honest-to-goodness deadline. Read more…

GM's Day!

March 4th, 2009 jason 6 comments

Well, I sure found out about this too late! Apparently, it’s worldwide GM’s day, as detailed on the original EN World post. One has to wonder where one’s GM’s Day cards are. Wither the GM’s Day breakfast in bed? The candy?

Ooohhhh…The Watchmen comes out tomorrow? We’re going to the midnight screening? Yay! Presents!

Some Summary

March 3rd, 2009 jason 2 comments

Tonight I started working on the long-needed rules summary page. It’s been a good experience. The rules really are pretty concise. And all together like that without any pesky examples or explanations, they all make sense and hang together. I even noted one or two good changes to make just from having them all next to one another like that. Everything’s in the summary now except combat. Phew.

How am I doing?

March 2nd, 2009 jason 4 comments

So you probably know or have figured out that I’m working on an RPG system. As I write this, readers of this blog have probably played it at least once. They may have even heard my Design Manifesto, which I read them to ask if the things I wanted to do with the game were things they would like, too. Aspects of this game that I really strove to achieve include: Read more…
