Done!
February 18th, 2009
I’m done with the no-reading-until-I’m-done-with-these-parts parts! Actually, I’m finished with a complete top-to-bottom revision of the game. The big deals include:
- Wordcount? 16,128 up 1200+ words from last update
- Minion and Villain combat rewrites
- Massive wordectomy removing all obsolete combat examples
- Security Jones finally gone – I’ll miss the old girl!
I have a bunch of stuff left to do, including:
- New combat examples. The old ones are gone but the new one’s aren’t here yet.
- Removing completed notes to myself – small potatoes compared to the already excised stuff.
Obviously, I’m not done in the sense of…finished. But that’s one goal down!

Yay Playtesting round 3!! (…that means we have to make characters again, doesn’t it? GET TO. I mean, “get to”.) I like the red sparkly bits.
Huh. I wonder who I could have been thinking of when I wrote about antitainment and character generation….
Anyhow, yes, that means that Friday is another round of playtesting! I’m pretty geeked about the whole thing. Talked to my brother tonight and he said he was excited about it, too. Now, my main job is simply to not put him off of RPGs for the rest of his life….
And if the red sparkly bits you like are the ones by your name, they’re programatically generated avatars called “identicons” and I thought they were super snazzy.
Also, sparkly is the Slayer.
Congrats! Sounds like a huge milestone. Can’t wait to see it!
It’s a pretty big deal to me. Plus, I got it done on time. That’s a good thing, too. I’ll see what comes up from Friday’s playtest – and when those are fixed, maybe we can get you in a session?
Sounds good let me know when.
